2x P pickups wired in series

Question:

This question is for anyone who has a bass with 2 precision pickups.

1) has anyone with a double precision bass wired their 2 precision pickups in series ? ?
2) if so, how did it sound ? ?
3) would you recommend ? ?

I believe I tried it when I had that kind of bass. Didn't care, so I suppose I wouldn't recommend. Too thick.
I'd consider it if each pickup was individually wired in parallel, I recall reading that works and gives a different sound.

I'd also consider just adding a Tonestyler or similar cap switch, it helps you select/dial in the resonant frequency. One of the settings probably sounds close to series wiring, just without the volume increase.

I have P/reverse P with 4 way switch (serial, neck, parallel, bridge).
Serial sounds great but little muddy, but after I wired hi pass filter it was fine.
