for the apt50 yes does better at 5k to go lower with a horn or tweeter. you need a bigger horn for 3k or 1.8k and at more lower bandwidth need at least apt80 driver.

so yes perfect apt50 survives good at 5k has its own built in horn.
for sealed back mid, the friendly part of the impedance curve sits high around 700hz , so for crossover.
yes 900hz is fine, use softer slope 6db.
Basically exactly where the impedance curve is friendly between 700 / 900hz so 900hz crossover is good.

it can be crossed over very low (as low as 2 kHz with a 4th order high-pass filter), so you would not need anything else for midrange reproduction.

Due to the difficulty of speakers, I will again abandon the 3 way and assemble only selenium drive crossed at 1800Hz 12dB (
this project already tested and approved)

I found it and got it A Celestion TF0615MR !

I'm directing to :

LP < 1000Hz (2 x BP102)
< 1000Hz ~ BP ~ 3000Hz > (TF0615MR)
HP > 3000Hz (Selenium / JBL D202Ti)

It's Ok ?

It should work as a mid in a 3-way.
The trick is going to be in designing a proper crossover. Maybe someone here can help with that.

Only using the mid from 1-3k seems a waste. Will also be kinda tough dealing with a BP filter to make it happen. Seems like more problem than it's going to be worth.

It's a 3 way cab

Low frequency - 2 BP102 (crossed at 1000Hz LP 12dB/8va)
Mid Frequency - 1 Celestion TF0615MR (1000Hz <BP> 3000Hz 12dB/8va)
High Frequency - 1 Selenium D202Ti (crossed 3000 Hz HP 12dB/8va)

Personally I'd try closer to 800-5k. Looks like it rolls itself off pretty well up top. I'd be more inclined to try blending the tweeter in up there. With out real world measurements, it's all speculation.

The Celestion sealed back 6" is a very nice driver. Sound-wise, it compares favorably to the Audax PR midrange drivers that were industry standard a couple of decades ago and still sound great. However, it does need a custom crossover to deal with the peak at around 800Hz (from memory).

It is not ready yet. But I can already feel that "here to stay"

Crossover I dimensioned as I said before:
LP 900 Hz
HP 900 Hz (mid)
HP 4.5 KHz (drive) + LPAD Variable

The cabinet has an impressive clarity!
I even think about atenuate the mid way, but first I want to test it on stage, because I believe that the dispersion will be great!
I have an option on the Crossover to attenuate 4dB in the mid (maybe put a switch on mid -> 0 dB / -4dB)

This week I must finish it and put a photo of them ready, and an audio example!
The 2 way is already known, so there's not much to comment on, but it's great !

Perhaps... 2 way -> vintage / 3 way -> modern
