2x10s stacked vertically?

Yea! Maybe so! Some of the stage risers we get to play on at festivals and outdoor events will definitely sway under the weight of your body weight. There were times I couldn't even approach my rig without it swaying precariously from the stage movement under my (reasonable!!) weight.

I've talked to a guy who swears by that stacking method and if I find myself a second 2x10, I'll try it too. When you try it, have someone else play your bass while you step off the stage into the room. Even though the sound is different when the place has people in it, you'll get an idea of how your sound is doing.

I have a GK 115SBX and am getting a 210SBX to complete my set, but I have thought about a second 210SBX, but I just thought it was a noob idea.

I seriously thought if I said anything outloud the music community would laugh at me... hmmm..

O, and BTW, I can get a GK 210SBX for $250 bucks at Guitar Center, should I go for it?

while i don't have billfm's expertise, i have done many experiments, not the least of which was placing my four 1 driver each cabs in two side by side stacks vs a vertical column. Vertical wins hands down. i was able to listen to others play both rigs as well as play them myself. I have also consistently received the largest # of compliments re: tone with the vertical stack.

FWIW, I use a 2x10 Avatar stacked vertically on top of a 1x15 Ashdown. I had a T-E 4x10 that I sold as it was just too big for my needs.

I wonder what 2 2x10 Avatars would sound like vertically??
