Chef, how does the GK rig compare to the Mesa/Baer one?
I assume the GK is a lot cheaper, certainly would be here in the UK, just wondering if it holds its own against the other...

The GK speakers are smaller, lighter, and horn equipped.
So, compared to the Baers, thye" what you'd expect."
Brighter on top, less native deep end.
They'll take bass eq to a point, but, the GK drivers are "of the normal variety not the LF/HO variety," so, you can't push them as hard as the Baers.

The Baers have more native fat, less nativeseehn and sizzle...but, "only by copmpairson," as the Faital mid drvier on the Baers goes plenty high, even for creditable slap tones.
The Baers are bigger, a little heavier, and definately "a classier, higher priced feeling" build quality.

The Mesa head is much more tubey/vintage feeling than the GK MBFusion head, which is is really very much like the rest of the MB line, with some of the cutting edge rounded off via the preamp tubes.
The GK has more power on tap.

I'm a huge fan of 1x12 cabs, I've got an EAD Prototype Foundation 112 3-way, this thread is bad for me, but you've got two rigs on here that I'd love to try

Annoyingly, it doesn't look like the 112s will be going into production, which is a real shame as they're amazing!

Making that kinda stuff by hand in small batches, its impossible to turn a profit, unless you charge more than people are willing to pay for them. The obvious route would be to outsource the construction to somewhere cheaper but that would require serious investment and Dave, who designs and builds them, already has a day job and doesn't really want the additional stress.
I guess another might be to license the design to one of the big players, there's certainly some unique and very useful features on them...

Here are my two rigs. One is a Genz Benz ShuttleMAX 9.2 driving a pair of Bergantino CN112s. The other is a Genz Benz ShuttleMAX 12.2 driving a pair of Audiokinesis TC112s.

Both are awesome rigs but of course different. The TC112s are my favorite cabs ever - deep, clear, punchy, powerful lows, great dispersion, and smooth all the way up - no gank, grind, breakup.

The CN112s are a different flavor, also great in their own way. More upper mid emphasis, not as deep.

I don't need both rigs, but I can't part with either one!
