2x112-rigs? Show me yours!

Unlike many here, I'm not in love with the old-school grill cloths and metal corners (I prefer metal grills & heavy-duty plastic stacking corners). But I do love the compact vertical form factor. A lot.

Nice setup greengoblin! I like the Ampeg/Aggie combination. I run my Ampeg PF350 through GS112s a lot.

Tried out my new 2x112 rig last night at rehearsal with my 11-piece funk band. Whoooo eeeee, they sound killer. Tomorrow night will be rehearsal with my 14-piece urban gospel band for round two!

Thanks! I hadn't really planned on new cabs, but then we started doing some (pretty extensive) A/B/C/D comparisons over the course of a couple weekends with my friends at Premier Bass up near Boulder. My Avatars sounded good, but were a bit awkward on size/schlep factor, so the form factor of a pair of 12s really started appealing to me, and I was surprised about how loud they could actually get. Not "stadium rock" loud of course, but way more volume than I'll need. At rehearsal I only had the master at about 9:30 with the gain and volume a good bit lower than usual. One cab would've been plenty for practice, but I wanted to test the whole rig.

I'm still deciding if the Shuttle will stay, because I during my shootout I also got to try both the MB Fusion 500 and 800, and they both sounded awesome. The Shuttle is quite transparent, the MB Fusions added just that little bit of color that I really dug. But... I did find myself smiling more than once at the growl and clarity I was getting with this rig, so... We'll see. Gotta let it settle in and then I'll decide.

I haven't tried the TH500 with a Schroeder, but it's a killer sounding little amp and I bet you'd dig it. Be aware that it has quite a bit more flavor than the Streamliner (both amps I was also able to try in my cab shootout), but both amps sounded great with Aguilar, GK, Berg and Hartke HyDrive, all fairly different cabs. I can't imagine either amp sounding bad with any cab. Just kind of depends on what flavor you like.

Especially cuz I have the same rig..except with a shuttle 6 on top.
