Interesting. Is this just due to component variation, do you think? Or is there a fundamental difference between the models?

They are different, imo the MK2 is smoother, but the tone range on the MK3 is wider, the MK3 is also louder output wise, but by a small amount the MK2's sub was just smoother and less abrasive, and clippy. I had the MK2 when I got a MK3. They both are great, and work ALL the time, if you have issues with the buttons being close just get different button toppers.

Should have kept my MK2... could send my first born to college with the sales apparently

Yeah, I haven't tried the mkii but have a mini which is supposedly the tim tuned mkii in a smaller chassis & can say it is much creamier than the mkiii & sounds much closer, almost identical to a 1982 Boss OC-2... while the range of the mkiii may be wider I find the sub has less character but when blending clean & sub it has a crisp quality that I assume would cut through a mix better.

Well, shoot, I didn’t see that. Where’s that at? The last update I can see is on the main page where it says that there was going to be a DOOM 2 and OCTABVRE restock today at 9am PST.

Yes, every so often he releases a batch and they sell out immediately.
