I gotta think a lot of bass players would prefer a 3-space rack case for their 2-space power amp and 1-space preamp rigs.

I've been using [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] with my RPM/Crown XLS 1000 setup and it's been great. But the Crown just doesn't have enough juice for my needs so I upgraded to a "big boy" power amp. A QSC RMX 2450. Yeah baby - talk about HEADROOM.

But of course it's too deep for this bag and I don't think it'd be too smart to put a 45-pound amp in a bag anyway so... it's time for a "big boy" ATA rack case.

Problem is, lotsa 2-space racks and 4-space racks out there, but 3-space racks seem to be few and far between.

'bout the only one I can find is this one:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001NC5TF0...20&ascsubtag=4a251a2ef9bbf4ccc35f97aba2c9cbda

It would prolly workout just fine, but I don't recognize the logo in the picture so I can't even tell what the brand name is and thus I'm a little leery - ya know?

Anyone here have any experience with this one?

Or better yet, know of a better deal out there for me?

I been thinking maybe I should just get a 2-space rack and put it on the floor, put the cabs on top of that and just use pedals for pre-amp duties and have nothing on top of my cabs. Any reason why that would be a bad idea? Setting ~70 pounds of cabs on top of a 2-space rack?

Okay now I'm just rambling. Guess I better get back to work.

specs on the 2450 say it's 15.9" deep. of course I need another few inches after that so I can leave the power and speakons plugged in and just wrap em up inside the case so I'm figuring I need about 20" from the front rail to the inside of the rear cover.

and I know I already did the tantrum thing but I don't want those molded plastic cases - they're ugly.

You'd be hard pressed to find a better case at a better price. Pick your depth. Overseas? Yes. Well made? Yes.

Awesome there it is! Thanks!

The google-machine neglected to inform me about that particular option. I've actually used this brand before and liked em, and it's got recessed latches which the one on Amazon does not have, and they actually document the dimensions a lot better so I know what I'm getting. Cool.

$130 including shipping. unless someone comes up with a better option soon I think I'll order this one.

Thanks again! Woohoo!

Nice enough, tho, personally, I don't care for twistlocks that stay on the main body of the rack. I've had trouble with those being noisy while playing. I prefer the twistlocks on the rack lids.
ymmv.
