3-space racks?

I 'max out' at 4 space racks, unless they're staying 'in studio'. If I need more spaces, I just add extra racks and stack them. I'd rather carry two smaller lighter racks than one big one. 4 spaces is the largest that I can still handle like a suitcase.

My speaker cases and my guitarist uses all EWI cases. You will like them. They are very durable. And yes, you can push them into a semi and be safe.. our band uses a couple of them as well

I been thinking maybe I should just get a 2-space rack and put it on the floor, put the cabs on top of that and just use pedals for pre-amp duties and have nothing on top of my cabs. Any reason why that would be a bad idea? Setting ~70 pounds of cabs on top of a 2-space rack?

Sounds good to me. I mean, hey, what could go wrong?

My setup is a 3 space rack containing an RMX1450 and a tuner, then a 2 space rack containing a Furman Power source and my BBE preamp. The QSC is heavy by itself!

Push comes to shove, I could just put the BBE in with the QSC.

I buy used Anvil racks off Craigslist. Get 'em for a decent deal. Mostly 2 space racks iut there, and then 6 and 8 space. 4's are less common to find used, and finding a deep 3 - I had to drive almost an hour to pick it up. Sometimes its just easier to buy a new one and get it shipped to your door.

I buy all my cases, cables, other stuff from audiopile. Mark/Liz are great to deal with and the EWI is honestly unbeatable value for the price.

Nice enough, tho, personally, I don't care for twistlocks that stay on the main body of the rack. I've had trouble with those being noisy while playing. I prefer the twistlocks on the rack lids.

I agree with you in theory, though my own 3U is an cheap Gator with twist-locks on the body (I had store credit and it was the only shallow 3U they had), and I worried about that, but it has never actually rattled on me, despite going up to some pretty insane volume levels.

Mine is an SKB rotomolded guy. Super protective. 170 new. I use it for my 2space amp and 1space Furman.
Dying for a second 2space amp (orange ob1 500) and the question is do I go 6space or snag another 3!
