$340.50 Rickenfaker? (Made in China content)

I contacted Tim Zienert at this site: Invalid Link Removed

about a Career bass, which I heard was a pretty high quality bass. But he was not willing to ship to the US. My cousin lived in Germany at the time, and was moving back to the states.
I really started to buy one and have it shipped to her to bring back, but wasn't sure about customs laws, besides, they aren't as cheap as the Chinese ones. Has anyone seen or played these? I also saw a shop in Canada that had fake rics (not career), that would ship to the US. I don't remember where I saw them now, but I believe it was on TB.

Click on the bass to see the slideshow, and tell me what you think. Maybe Tim will reconsider if enough people bug him.

I own 2 real ones and in comparison it stands up pretty good to them and with 1700.00 in price difference I say its a good deal.As far as the pickups there is less hum in the fake then there is in the real ones.I not trying to say its better then a real one but its not a bust either.Overall a great bass for the money. For another 225.00 you can buy the real Ric PU's and go a step further.Investment total 545.00,not bad.I own about 30 basses so I do know a little about them with about 40 years playing experience.

I own one (my second) and posted her a couple of times here. I changed the pickups to RIC replacments from classicamplification.net (were way cheaper than the original ones and sound and look the same). Bought the chrome cover for the bridge pickup and stuffed a bezel into it to get a bit more mass on the bass. Now it sounds killer.
