3Leaf Audio Club - Episode 2

Is it something wrong with me because I prefer Doom and Octabvre in front of the WL instead of having them in WL loop? I've experimented a lot tonight and I must confess my Proton stays on the board with WL. I actually prefer the Proton with Octave. Still WL is much more versatile in settings and works good with Doom, so they stay both but in line, not looped. I may carry on experimenting and loop Doom and Octave in WL after but not now...I've heard you must adjust the bypass internal trimpot in WL to let the effects in a chain work on their own, anybody done that? Cause factory settings of WL bypass won't let the effects in the loop be engaged without WL on, which means that having Doom and Octave in the loop of WL I can't use them with Proton which is after all. So many things to sort out, so many pedals:)

Yes, there's something wrong with you, you should seek help. ;)

Just kidding.

What you need is to set that internal switch so you can use the pedals in the loop independent of the filter, quite a nice option that. That also switches the pedal to buffered bypass, I have not noticed any problem with that though.

One of the things I've found that's really nice about the Octabvre is that it still tracks really well with palm muting. This just adds to its versatility when stacking with the You're Doom and others. I'm loving it!

I ordered an Octabvre on Monday and am psyched to hear it with my WL. For those of you that ordered direct from 3 Leaf, was there any lag time in receiving tracking info? Hoping to have an idea in the next day or two whether or not I'll be able to test drive it on the gigs this weekend. Next order of business is finding out how to use it tastefully in a classic rock cover situation...

I don't need an octave either, except for .. Well, 1 song. But i keep my subt for the synth/fuzz. I tried oc-3, aguilar and mxr octaves, did not feel i liked any of them. Guess i don't like octaves!

Now fuzzes i like!!

OK guys, I've re-arranged my pedalboard last night and now it looks like this. Mostly 3Leaf gear on it, every item has its use both in combination with the other bits and on its own.
Probably the Proton is the only pedal which I use only as a component with Octave or/and Doom. Both combos sound terrific. WL is used both on its own for some funky envelop sweeps and with Octave-B3K-Doom in a loop.
So basically this setup lets me cover all my musical needs now. I have opposite settings on my Proton and WL (sweep down on the Proton and sweep up on WL) which makes two optional modular synths with different character, they are both linked to Octave and Doom (in a loop of WL and before the Proton).

The only thing on my wish list is a more extreme envelope filter like Xerograph for some crazy stuff and a vocal formant filter TWA Little Dipper 2.0.

I use B3K on its own more often, but when it is in front of Y'Doom it adds some growl to fuzz tone making it more "live" because the initial charachter of Y'Doom is kinda sinthy(and I really like it!). I love my board as is now, the only things which maybe on a wish list are exp pedal for WL, some extreme sounding envelope filter like Xerograph and maybe a Bass Whammy...
First impressions on Octavbre - ít is good octave pedal. Nice feature is this sub knob, but to be honest I've never been super anxious about octavers and I always could dial in some good fat synth tone without them.
I bought one just because I feel like 3Leaf guy after I bought Y'Doom. This little beast literally made my pedalboard and is now a part of my tone. Genious approach to what a fuzz may be turned into.

Ordered my b3k direct and got stomped for duty. Club Bass is now a dealer, so I ordered my VMT from Dave. (And I found out, to my surprise, that he's now carrying 3Leaf as well, so that's where my Octavbre is coming from. Later this week...)

I'll be honest. I like the tones but I don't use octaves enough to justify it. The SubT is enough for me and very small relative to this. If I used octaves more, this would definitely be a great pedal to have. I really like the two tones you get at the extremes.

3leaf's website says Octabvre "out of stock, see dealers" until next production run in February!?
I was trying to wait a bit, since my wallet just took multiple hits from unexpectedly buying a little black box and the cascade effect that caused (had to buy a bigger board since I was saving the last slot for an Octabvre, but then with a bigger board I figured why not try a couple more pedals).
Now looks like folks will need to grab one before they're gone for 2 to 3 months... A couple went up on ebay last night from a dealer and were gone even before I got the email notice. Feeding frenzy?!
