My guess, looking at that image URL, is that something is amiss with talkbass, not with what you're doing.
Got the Octabvre right before I left for thanksgiving, so I didn't get a chance to play with it until yesterday. So great to finally have an analog octave with plenty of headroom, no useless octave up or 2 octave down controls and an easy way to switch between sub and mixed octave sound. Wish I would have had this five years ago. I have no qualms replacing my old Markbass MB octaves with it, which was my previous go to after owning every previous analog octave on the market.
Only bad thing is it won't work with my board the way it was setup for the last 9 months, but being in between bands and waiting for one more piece of gear to come out, it was going to have to be stripped down anyway.

Yup, but not in the effects loop, I prefer the Proton with the YD and Octave though.
I ended up trying to get the Wonderlove to sound like the Proton anyway, do decided the Proton stays and the WonderLove is stored for now.
The Wonderlove can get more sounds and is more versatile but my favourite sound comes out of the Proton.

Damnit just when I almost convinced myself to get a WL... I am so torn. Effects loops is a cool idea, as is the Expression pedal. But ultimately if the Proton seems to be unanimously preferred amongst my bass bro's, it must be the "better" filter!?!? My band covers "Chameleon" from time to time, and I do enjoy some synthy stuff... Gahhhhhhhh first world problems
If you want flexibility then the Wonderlove is the way to go, I find I just want a thick saucy filter sound and the Proton does that
Once I have my filter sound dialed in it is not one of the pedals that I adjust.
That's quite an amazing board. If I get the ditto right, you can make a quick groove and then proceed to fiddle with all the sweet pedals?
