If you like Aguilar's tone, then get the Tone Hammer. The TH has a larger impact from an EQ standpoint, but you're shaping Aguilar's tone, not your bass' tone. Don't get me wrong, the TH is a great sounding pedal, but my I prefer the sound of my bass.

If you like the sound of your bass and want to be able to tweak that tone based on the song and/or the room, get the Enabler. EQ is like a woman using makeup: a little is just right, otherwise she's trying to compensate for something. For me, the selling point of the enabler was the aux/headphone capability.

very well put......the thing is I don't need the aux/headphone capability as I already have a working set up with my PC and an inexpensive 2 channel mixer.....so I'd be paying for something I don't need with the Enabler, though the EQ possibilities do intrigue me.....I also have an Aguilar preamp in one of my active basses and quite like it but don't want all my basses to sound the same, hence more than one bass.....what to do? So many darned options have been given to bass players these last few years......almost feel like ditching all the pedals but then I'd only be buying them all back again in a moment.....not keen on the 18v wallwart that comes with the TH and much prefer the size and 9v ability of the Enabler but it is pricey especially if I only want the EQ ability......I'll have to find another solution I think....

Wait until you have to take a trip somewhere and you want to be able to practice...the enabler is the little box that does it all.

Hey Spence, with these "maybe/kinda/sorta thinkin' bout it" ideas of doing another compressor, would you try to improve the PWNZOR like the GR1/GR2/WL series or start from scratch and have a new idea? Any things you wish you'd done better/differently with the PWNs other than the tweaking and hard build of them?

Curiosity killed my current tone thoughts ;)

It wouldn't have as many controls. The PWNZOR wasn't quite as plug-and-play as I would have liked, so if I do another one I'm making sure it's tough to get an unusable sound out of it.

Played this song at church this weekend: . It doesn't really have a bass part, so I used that as an opportunity to toy with some sounds. I used the Wonderlove with my MWBD in the effects loop set to one of the foldback distortions. A little basic slap and pop to add some rhythm. There is a part of the song where the synth playing below the low pass cutoff. I was able to produce that exact sound with the WL and some light plucking. It is very rare that I get to use a filter (or slap for that matter) in church, and this was a real treat. So glad I picked up a Wonderlove. None of my other filters played with the distortions or fuzzes like the effects loop of the WL. Bravo Spencer.

Glad you like it! That effects loop really makes a difference.
