Got my shipping confirmation for my Enabler...PUMPED! I think it may come tomorrow, but not sure.
The Enabler looks like a really great product ... only one thing not quite right (for me, that is), I wish the DI output were on the opposite side of the pedal. It doesn't work in either landscape or portrait orientation on my pedalboard. That's just specific to how and where I would want to place it though.
Ordered a Wonderlove yesterday after a couple weeks sniffing around for a filter pedal. I found several pedals with sounds I liked but ended up going with the WL for the loop. Not sure why no-one else does that - it makes so much sense.
It's amazing how good the headphone amp really is: You have to experience it to really understand it!
You would think the left side or the top would be the two locations you'd want for the DI on a DI/EQ pedal.

I wanted to put it on the left but things are really tight inside and the right was the only place it would fit.
I had an original GR and an EHX Bi-Filter. Both have an effects loop. I've found that pedals that get along well with an envelope filter in a chain just sound better than pedals in an envelope filter's effects loop. Of course, it often takes awhile to find the right, say, fuzz-envelope filter combo, but the right fuzz-envelope filter combo always sounds better than a fuzz in an envelope filter's loop, IME and IMO. There just seems to be more character when one directly impacts the other instead of going along for the ride. Both setups can sound great, though.
The proton is just sick. I was messing around with mine last night, it just sounds so juicy!
New Enabler came in today, #110. Definitely as awesome as advertised. Only the second pedal I've ever sprung for new (my custom Bass Bloom by Fuzzhugger being the first). Thanks for making such a great product, Spencer!
Thanx for the tip, I'll definately play around. However I think some pedals/settings do want a clean signal in and compress the sound too much to be before a dynamics-triggered effect. One of the things I want to try is a nasty synth from an Iron Ether Subterranea in the loop of an EHX Superego set for portamento, in the loop of the Wonderlove. Will post samples if it's any good.

Over the weekend, I moved my Enabler to the top right side of my board to open up room to access the DI. It required a little bit of cable snaking underneath from the far left side effect, but was well worth the trouble.
Saturday night was the first time I left my stage rig at home and used the feed from the Enabler DI right into the mixing desk. Once the engineer brought up the volume in my wedge, my bass sounded almost exactly like it does through my Alembic F-1x...clean, warm, fat, punchy. The sound guy actually came up to the stage during our break with a flashlight to get a good look at the floor setup. He told me that the sound coming off the DI was so good that there was almost no EQ'ing needed at the board, just setting up the volume in the main mix. This same guy is running sound for us again in two weeks, and he asked me if we could use the exact same setup for next time.

True dat! Another testament to how crystal the Enabler is, and that you're bass/playing sounds gooooood.
