How different are the 3rd and 4th generations of the proton? I have the previous version and am not super impressed by it.
Were the previous versions similar to the Up position of the switch ?I believe the only difference is the range switch being added back in for v4.

I owned both an original Doom 2 and High Gain Mod version at the same time, and the tonal difference was very minor (the gain difference, however, was significant). I preferred the standard version and kept that. Since the new Doom 2 is based on some of the HGM tweaks, I hope this helps answer your question.Anyone compared the latest iteration of the DOOM2 to the one prior? Is there is a big sound difference with the change he made?
