A proton will have a different look. But not in sound. That much money to spend I don't have. Ill keep the V2 original color. But a mystery pedal, has got my attention. And, I don't know what it is.

This may be a stupid question but search didn't come up with an actual answer...what's the difference between the original Proton and the V2? Obviously the chassis changed and the band switch changed to a decay knob, but is there anything else internally that changed?

Before the thread gets closed, I thought I'd give a shout out to Spencer for his awesome customer service. I bought a Wonderlove back in 2012 and it was acting weird with my Sterling HH. Neither of us could figure out what it was until he told me it was a bad batch of op amps. Despite it being 2 years later, he told me to ship him my pedal and replaced it for free. If that's not great service, then I don't know what is.

I didn't think I shipped any with the problem - I've only seen one back for repair with it. Basically there was a bad batch of op amps that made the detector circuit have a slightly delayed response when used with certain basses and playing techniques. It's pretty had to describe. In my testing, the problem pedals would work fine when playing fingerstyle, but if I slapped on my jazz bass there would be a half-second delay between when I hit the string and when the filter would react.
