3Leaf Audio Club - Episode 2

Purchased a new Fancy white Proton. I really love my Fromel Blue-Purpley Wonderlove and the GR2 before that, but this is going to be fun to compare. I do love the wide variety of sounds I can get from the WL, but on the gig the more straight forward Proton maybe just what the doctor ordered!

I'll probably announce it as soon as these white Protons are all shipped (I have 10 left right now). I still have to get the enclosures silk screened.

*Off-topic PSA*

I wonder if the reason this thread hasn't been closed yet is due to the impending server switch tomorrow morning? I browse on my mobile devices 95% of the time, and I have stickies and announcements turned off, but I just saw a post today from Paul that TB is migrating to a new server and is going to get a new look tomorrow at 1AM. I read through the FAQ on the switch and it looks like it's going to be a huge improvement (initial glitches, bugs, not withstanding).

YOU HEAR THAT PEOPLE? BUY UP THOSE WONDERFUL PROTONS!....Then we get to learn about the next awesome 3 Leaf thing. I did my part. Just Say'in.

....Speaking of that, this White Proton is fantastic. Can get Fat and burpy or super quick and articulate. Exactly what I wanted. I love the Wonderlove but I always feel like somehow it's got too many options when I play live. I've worked out a couple great setting here and now I feel like I can just grab and go, which is nice when most of your pedals are capable of a billion sounds. Nice to have some you know exactly how they will behave.
All this to say, the Proton is staying. Expect to see my Fromel Wonderlove and GR2 in the classifieds. 3 Leafs are the best Leafs....er...Pedals!

For me, the Decay knob made a HUGE difference. I had a purple V1 Proton and the filter never closed fast enough for my style/taste, even set to the faster setting with the internal switch. Having the knob on the outside makes it possible to really dial in how fast you want the filter to close, which also helps with dialing in different sounds. The purple one was pretty, but the Decay knob on the outside made it perfect. :)

Given the jack layout and what we can read of that name it's definitely the octave. I'm curious what the features are and what the second footswitch does. Even more curious how it sounds!

It just might knock the OC-2 off this board:
