Hmmmmmmmmmm... That's pretty darn tempting, Spencer! I pulled my compressor out of my chain quite a while ago, but they ARE quite useful tools. I might have to check this one out.

Is it too early to ask about pricing? (I may have just missed it, my talkbass adventures haven't been too consistent lately.) I'll be checking your site for pre-ordering... :)

P.S. overdriveoverdriveoverdriveoverdrive? lol

Not sure yet on price. Working on overdrive!

All good, I'll keep an eye on your site (and think if I want to get back into compressors ;)).

Can you give us an idea of where you're going with the design of your overdrive? For example, warm & squishy or aggressive & metallic? Lots of controls or keep it simple? A drive that does "barely there" subtle breakup or more "melt-your-face" grind?

I'll put in a personal vote: warm & squishy, subtle overdrive with bass/treble controls. OOOooo... what about an actual tube? I've tried 12 overdrives so far and my personal favorite is the Tubeworks BlueTube. Volume/Drive/Bass/Mid/Treble with a 12AX7 tube that many people (including myself) swapped with a 12AU7. Oh my, warm creamy overdrive goodness!!!

Just my humble opinion, but having EQ controls is MUCH more versatile than a standard Tone knob.

P.S. Don't forget, keep me on the list for a prototype. ;);) :bassist:

P.P.S. I'd be more than happy to give you feedback on the overdrives I've tried, if you're interested. PM me if you like. :)

It's a drive pedal and a clean boost running in parallel. Right now I have it with volume, gain and tone on the OD side and volume/tone on the clean boost side. No tube, but that's an interesting idea. Maybe for another product...

Good news, cool on the OD+Boost idea. It will probably tempt me from my Hematoma which is very good for my needs, but I can see a 3Leaf sounding richer. My GR is certainly better for me than every other filter I've tried. For OD, I'd like a wider range of low-level blossom, versus the Hematoma's quickly-too-much-for-me drive. And if your boost is along the lines of the Phat Phuk, I'd definitely be in!

Just had a silly thought, Spencer. With a Boost+OD pedal, it might be super cool if there was a second In/Out jack setup dedicated to the OD. For instance, when the OD I/O jacks are engaged OD is be taken out of the primary signal path (which would then become straight Boost) and the OD could be put into my GR's loop. So I'd have quality Boost into the GR, with the OD available through the GR's loop. Maybe it's a useless idea, I dunno.

Hmmm... parallel drive/boost..... Hmmm! Interrrrrrrresting!

Maybe just a tone control :p, but still very much looking forward to giving this one a try!

Booster + overdrive = Boosterdrive? (boring) Drivester? (nope) Dirt Drive? (meh) Dual Drive (with a little picture of a car with two steering wheels)? (probably not lol) Double Driver (as in "double D")? (sorry, couldn't resist :D) How about the Rusty Chicken? (LOL... don't ask, I don't know) 3Leaf Cloverdrive? (Hmm. Kinda dig that one)

Okay, I'm lame. Still not quite awake yet. I'll stop now. lol

EDIT: read Cloverdrive a few times now, it's growing on me. It just a thought though. :)

Since the last time this thread was updated, I've had to give up my Proton, sadly. But part of that was the fact that I had set aside money for another pedal and the 3Leaf compressor. Any updates on this?

I'm picking up the etched enclosures from Fromel this week, and I'll be building them next week. I went to a new relay bypass circuit and had to get new circuit boards made.
