3Leaf Audio Club

There's free RTA software you can use to find this sort of thing out for customers who want to know.

I thought about running it through the RTA and publishing specs, but I don't really like the idea of having numbers attached to the EQ...it forms peoples' opinions before they even hear it. People make way to much of a fuss about some rather meaningless information.

Not all EQ uses are about "tone". Sometimes, especially in the case of a preamp utility device, the user needs to know whether the EQ can perform a specific task that has everything to do with the numbers. Rather than just saying "I don't know and I don't care", it might be more constructive to emphasize that you designed your EQ for tone shaping, not utility functions.

I don't know, I tuned it by ear. They sound good.

I was a little surprised by this statement...it seems just a bit arrogant, although I DO agree that people get caught up in specs, those specs are important to the potential buyer and THAT, IMHO is who you need to "win over" as a company...

I think Bongomania was dead on..."sounding good" is completely subjective and I could be looking for something that your pedal doesn't offer...

With Aguilar, Sadowsky, EBS, Eden and a host of others (even Carey Nordstrand has plans for a preamp pedal that's soon to be released) you're entering a pretty tight market.

I'm a big fan Spencer and I've begun a good relationship with Chad based on YOUR recommendation...

A little blunt perhaps, but I kind of agree. To me, it looks like it's meant to be intuitive and user-friendly. So tuning it by ear and not worrying too much about specs kind of makes sense.

Good point - the EQ is definitely designed for broad tone shaping.

Had a chance to check out the Enabler in the flesh last weekend. It looks cool -- very light and compact. I didn't have a chance to hear it in action, but based on what I've seen and after talking to Spencer and Chad from BassEFX, I think it's going to be a must-have and I'm ordering one up. Planning to do a comparo with the Enabler, Aguilar Tone Hammer, Tech 21 VT Bass Deluxe and EBS Microbass II. I'll try to post my thoughts after I've had time to play around with them a bit.

Too funny, I pre-ordered "The Enabler" and plan on A/B'ing it with the same pedals :-)

LOL, I just pre-ordered and plan on A/Bing against my VT Bass Deluxe as well.

What really sold me is the headphone plug in. I love my Vt Bass Deluxe, but a smaller foot print andthe added features is what I am excited about. I plan on leaving this in my gig bag all the time if it doesn't make it to my pedal board.
