3Leaf Audio Octabvre MK III

I’m liking the MkIII. It is the first version I’ve owned and I’m really satisfied. I tried a few other analog octavers (the small Cog pedal, MXR vintage bass octave, two MIT Boss OC2s, and one MIJ Boss OC2, in addition to a Boss OC3) , and they all left me cold.

I obviously like the OC2 sound or I wouldn’t have bought and sold three of them, but I always wanted to have the option to add more low end and volume. The Octabvre MKIII pretty much solves all that, with the added benefit of being able to solo the sub signal. The foot switched are pretty cramped, but no worse than the Chase Bliss offerings, plus the whole top jacks and small footprint thing makes it super practical. I also think it tracks a touch better than the other analog octavers I liked.

This design has always been described as “OC2 on one side, Mutron on the other”, but the in-between sounds are some of my favorites.

Same here. Admittedly mine is a permanently Tim-tuned MKI, but with the Tim-tuning the knob at noon REALLY nails that Tony Levin sound he had on Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer, which is my go-to octave sound.

my exact thoughts...then I read the replies here about the switches being too close and the price being kinda ridiculous and it got me thinking...

With 2 volumes...if you click the sub only switch...wouldn’t you get a volume cut? Assuming you set your clean level and your wet levels to get your blended level, if you cut one will the other compensate and be boosted w the cut? Seems to me, this is THE problem w the design, although the foot switches being on top of each other makes it rough to put on a board unless it is in a corner...gonna be hard to pinpoint those switches w accuracy.

As for the price, it is a handmade boutique pedal from a respected builder who has a big enough fan base that he could have set it at 500 bucks and still have just as many preorders...but when you pause to consider the opportunity cost, it justifies using a Hedra for octave duties...which is my current setup. The Hedra smokes just about every octave out there from a tracking perspective and you can dial in the tone how you like it w the 3 voices...plus a Hedra does sooooo much more.

I was definitely planning to jump on this as soon as it came out but now I am gonna wait til it gets in some hands and we can hear the verdict on the foot switches, how that sub option works in real life, and at this point, might as well wait for a Black Friday discount (chromatron was giveaway prices for Black Friday when it first came out).
What’s this Hendra? (Couldn’t find it on google).

I just ordered a Proton... according to the site, there should be more in December. Unless I misunderstood something that I read
From what I can tell there will be a preorder for the Doom 2 soon, to ship in December, but I can't locate any info on the MK3, unless you are talking about the Doom 2? I would like another, guitarist has barrowed mine and love it, impossible to get back..

I bought a mk11 from this guy for 300 when no one was selling them told me it was broken didn’t ship. Rubbed all of the labels off and put it back on reverb for 400 and asked me if I still wanted it! P O S

Same story for me. I tried to buy one of his MkIIs for $350. Next day, the purchase is cancelled with this note attached: "I'm going to have to refund this, I have two and did not actually mean to list this. If I decide to resell I will contact you. Thanks" (Side note: I'm not actually sure what makes this a valid excuse...)
Evidently he did decide resell, because I have been keeping a lookout for his listings to laugh at them and mutter mean words at him. He has also never contacted me. I thought about sending him a message to mess with him re: his request for a MkII/MkIII trade, because I did end up getting a MkII, despite his best efforts.
