I already rubbed alcohol wipes across everything and luckily the lettering is still there. I find it kind of funny as I was expecting this. I could see myself getting mad if I was in on the first batch though. Especially, for a $200+ octaver.

How have users of the MKIII been liking the spacing between the bypass and sub footswitches. I just spoke with Chad at The Bass Shop and told him that when he gets more MKIIIs in stock that I'd buy one (I need to make some room on my board and this would help), but the more I look at those footswitches the more nervous I get. Any thoughts from those of you with an MKIII underfoot?

I have to be careful when switching mine on. I have hit both on accident or have the sub octave set to on then turn it off when I switch the pedal on.

I was thinking about putting one of those tall knob buttons on the bypass. I’m not really playing live right now. In the studio it hasn’t been a huge issue but I do have to pay attention or I hit both.

This is helpful. I’m a Barefoot Buttons addict as you can see, and I wasn’t sure if they’d fit given the footswitch spacing.

I believe those might be some of the first batch with the bad paint that got damaged before being sent out.

I actually like my janky paint. I’m looking forward to most, of even all of the lettering eventually falling off and leaving me with an all black MYSTERY PEDAL!

I was thinking of upgrading from my MKII, but not if it's gonna smear my other pedals with gunk or have all the letters fall off.

I feel the finish is more like teflon. It feels really slick and nothing sticks to it. I think both issues have been fixed though.

Where's the confirmation of this? I've searched this entire thread and people that aren't Spencer are saying it's ok now. Did he post it on an Insta story or something? Checked the website but it makes no mention of paint issues, only sourcing issues (as to be expected of this year).

I asked Spencer about it, and that's what he had told me.

I have one from the first batch and it's perfectly fine, it had a tiny amount of production oil but nothing a single paper towel couldn't fix. It's almost like bluing or an anodized metal. The oil reminded me of triflow

Velcro doesn't stick to mine even when cleaning it with alcohol. I used electrical tape on the bottom and that helped, but it still doesn't stick that great. Right now mine says "Jc'abvrf" instead of "Octabvre"
