I'm sorry! It's almost finished, i have to polish the frets and put the last hand of varnish. But i don't have two f*****g pots for the volume, probably i will have to wait for two weeks to recieve them

Beautiful job carving! Do you have any tips on working on laminations of harder and softer woods like that, and keeping things smooth and under control?

For the body and the headstock i got no problems, the real trouble is the neck heel, it's not perfect at all. For carving i use chisels, then rasps, sometimes files, and finally scrapers and sandpaper... For me the scraper is the most important tool for carving, it take a lot of time but i can control the detail with it.

Carl would be proud of that one..

...or he could file a claim, because I copied his design!


Now i have to take care of the frets.. some buzz...

Beautiful!!! Wow!!! What's the overall thickness of the body? Carl's basses are surprisingly thin, front-to-back. I wish Fender would do a version of a J-Bass, and a P-Bass, with a significantly thinner body, like the bass in this post.
