4 string fretless first build

I promise it's actually really comfortable, if you play with your thumb on the neck, a neck this thick actually increases your range of motion a little.
I've also had a few guitarists try it, they were skeptical at first too. Both enjoyed it, one even said this was the only bass he's ever been able to play comfortably.
I'd have to take your word on that... I have short stubby fingers and don't even like the thickness of the Tele Bass neck...this looks like a nightmare for me. To each their own though.
That out of the way, I like the exceptionally clean and simple design of this. Sometimes these custom builds can be overdone. I really like the recessed pickup. I kept looking at your action trying to spot the space between the strings and the fingerboard. Very nice build.
If it is at all; it's just under 10mm
String spacing was just trial and error. That's why I recessed the bridge, that way I could just start with them flat against the fingerboard and just raise until the there was no buzz. I could probably go a little lower at the nut, maybe I'll make a spare nut and see how low I can get it.

I couldn't really get the hardware to work with the scale and standard strings other than that I'd say it's great stuff.
Not enough speaking length on the string would cause me to have to clamp it on the silk, something that hipshot advises against. Clamping there would cause the string to snap when tensioned

Yikes...
Just out of curiosity, why did you choose a string spacing of 11mm rather than just letting the strings pull themselves into a more "natural" string spacing at the nut?
