I'm very interested in the EBS 410. I am a little tired of the "muddiness" of my SVT410hlf. How is the bottom of the EBS 410? According to the specs, it only goes down to 70Hz. Or would the EBS 311 (15" + 10") be a better choice?

Are they keeping the same GK 410RBH as last year? I have the 2x10, and it rocks. I wouldn't mind picking up the 4x10 too.

There hasn't been any recent changes to the GK 410RBH although we're working on changing the surround (the flexible outer edge of the speaker) on them to make it handle more abuse over a longer period of time. In the 210RBH, it we got a much better low B response.

We're having a hard time keeping up with the demand for our new 410SBX cabinet. Price for performance is unreal.

[I can only speak for myself.]

I play a BEADG 5 string bass and I don't think the Avatar B410 has enough bottom end to get the sound I'm after.

[If I had less funds available than I did when I got my rig, I would have probably gone with the Avatar B212 w/Deltas (or two CB112s).]

So 'Other Brands' wins again. Nothing very surprising I suppose in such a fragmented market. Long may other brands rule. I'd hate to see the speaker market get narrow around just a few brands. This way there's plenty of room for innovation from mega expensive and esoteric to DIY with a few decent 15" or 4x12" speaker chassis.

Can anyone remind me again why we all pay so much for the box to be put around the speakers and carried all over the country at our expense before we buy them? After all building cabs is not rocket science. This stuff must have mark-ups like furniture to make it worth stocking, it's so big.

I have an EBS 4x10. It's loud. It's punchy. It's clear.

Keep in mind, that while the cabinet is rated to go down to 70 Hz, it's not like frequencies below that simply fall off...they're just not as prominent as the frequencies above. If you really like the throatiness of a subwoofer, this cab is not for you, unless you add a 15" underneath it. If you like a cab that'll hit you in the chest and you like the definitions mids give you, then it is a good cab for you.

For me, I like it, but I'm also looking around...I might be selling mine.

i voted eden.

i play in a modern hr band tuned beadg detuned one half step all the way across and i use stingray 5's and warwick thumb 5's. lot of time on the b string in c and c# tuning. mesa boogie head and eden 410 xlt. no problems. killer sound. cuts through great. no volume probs. the sound ive been looking for for 4 years. ive used trace and peavey....have played my rig through aguilar....ampeg....bag end....mesa....and swr before i decided on eden. cost a little more but well worth the money imho.

I finally got a chance to hear the BASSON 4x10. I was very very impressed. It was handling the low C# of an 11 string quite nicely. I heard the same bass thru Aguilars and the BASSON cab's performed much better. Of course the amp heads were different. The BASSON was using an GK1001rb and the Aguilar had an Aguilar head, not sure the model.
Besides the low's the BASSON just sounded better overall. So I guess those 200oz magnets really do work. The price of $500.00 now seems like quite a good deal.
My only problem is the weight of the cab. I was told the 4x10 weighs 140lbs. Pretty hefty for an old guy like me to hurk around. Now If I had a road crew I'd get a dozen of 'em!!:D The 8x10 weighs in at 190lbs!

Anyone else get a chance to hear them?

I'm going to give Dan the nod. My GK 410RBH is very nice. I use it live on top of an Eden 115XLT. It would sit on a 115RBH, but I bought the Eden first. I also use a 210RBH at home for practice.

Cover band, Rn'R, I'm in the PA too, but don't need to be. That 410 Gallien-Krueger cab does everything that I ask from it. I guess I'll vote other.
