Just watched too many YouTube videos of people saying that 63 precisions are something special.Nice list. Why a ‘63 specifically?
Here’s mine:
-Skjold Drakkar or Slayer, 5 string, maybe HEADLESS!!!
- G&L M-2500 with series 750 bridge/string spacing
- Another G&L L-1000 (for backup)
- Vintage Jazz or Precision(pre CBS)
- Stenback J style
- A decent fretless of some kind
I think 63 was the year Leo sold to CBS, so the oddity of that year is that SOME of the instruments earlier in the year were still high quality, but then sometime in that year CBS took over and immediately changed materials and procedures to cut costs and maximize profit. So basically SOME 63s are special and some not so much!Just watched too many YouTube videos of people saying that 63 precisions are something special.

No, sir. It was 1965. All 1963s are PRE CBS and that's what makes them "special" in the eyes of many.I think 63 was the year Leo sold to CBS, so the oddity of that year is that SOME of the instruments earlier in the year were still high quality, but then sometime in that year CBS took over and immediately changed materials and procedures to cut costs and maximize profit.
