5 string E-C question

Thinking about restringing my 5 string from E-C. Anything I should know before going down this path? Nut or neck concerns?

I've strung many 5vers E - C with no issues. I didn't change the nut, etc. You'll have to set up the bridge to adjust to the smaller string diameter and probably need to check the intonation. Any truss rod adjustment should be minimal.

As long as the bass is setup for it, it's no big deal. I used a Warwick with an adjustable nut when I did it. There is a chance you may want to have the nut cut a little bit. The lighter gauge strings can handle low action a little better. But I'd replace the nut with an adjustable one instead of cutting the one on it.

I'd also recommend going online and buying single high C strings to match a 4 string set. There are several that do that.

These are done great ideas. Thanks. I am curious about an adjustable nut. Where would I find those. I have a luthier in town that could put it on but I've never seen one.

I've only seen the adjustable nuts on Warwicks.
