Actually, a set of F holes is set up to vibrate being centered between a saddle. A luthier could explain it more cogently.

...in theory yes; but frankly I don't think this is written in the stone. Maybe that is "truer" for a real acoustic instrument. But, then, take a look at these weirdos below ;)

...I am convinced, anyway, that the "aligned-across-the-saddles" principle would not apply much to any semiacoustic-solid block axe: f-holes are just cosmetic, there!
