Can anyone recommend a decent 5 string P pickup. I like typical P sound and would rather go passive. I've seen a few like Nordstrand and Bartolini but would like to know if anyone has an opinion on one. Would be for an Essex P 5'er mod. Willl need to route for it and I don't want to break the bank but pickups aren't a huge expense.

You might be better off posting this in "pickups and electronics" rather than "basses." It would probably lead to a better response at least.

Sadowsky stuff will be for 19mm bridge spacing. The Essex fivers (at least the Fender rip offs with pick guards) are probably closer at the bridge. The Bartolini may be good because I think they are a continuous pole rather than having to line up pole pieces.
