Hi,

I have been looking for a 5-string with P/J pickup configuration, but I have really have a hard time finding any models.

So far, these are the only ones I have been able to find:

Sadowsky, NYC Vintage 5 (P/J):

Yamaha, BB415:

So, if any of you guys know about other 5-string P/J basses please post...:)

Hey - I had Jon Hill (Cleveland, OH) build one for me. He has since moved to Florida to work for Hamer, but you can check his site. He may still have some stock, and I'm really happy with mine. Link Removed

As someone else said, most quality luthiers will be more than happy to build one for you. The trick is finding someone with the right creds. Jon does nice work, and is fairly well-known in the builders community. Mine is fretless, and has active Bartolinis and exotic woods etc.. always draws a crowd and it sounds more like a P-bass than a P-bass in some ways, and ditto for the jazz. The pan lets you control everything and there's L-M-H controls as well, so the result is an almost limitless array of sounds. If you want more info feel free:
