I've used it with a brush.
Put one coat after sanding the wood to 1500,
wait 24 hrs, sand with 600 paper, then apply the second one, and
you're done.
Very easy to use.

I saw this lacquer polished with Menzerna compounds, sold by StewMac, and it turned glossy, but without having the 100% mirror effect. (Because it's satin)

Thank you! You're right, this one is for me.

Robert, you might need to apply more coats of this product, depends on the wood you use. Alder is a non porous wood, so I've only had to apply 2 coats.
If you use swamp ash I think 3-5 coats will satisfy. And if it's walnut, you'll need to use a sealer first.

Ah, I didn't know. I use mahogany and maple. Think the maple is dense enough.. but do I need a sealer for mahogany first?

I played it today through a Marshal 30W Bass State combo, and it sounded so good!
This one is a slap heaven, and trust me I know a great slap tone when I hear it..
The Maple board, Nordstrand 2 band pre and nickel strings give such a rich and ringing timbre.
The fingerstyle sound is tight and full, with a mild spark of highs.
I'm so happy I didn't go for the 3-band preamp.
BTW, I use only La Bella Slappers (45-128), and don't think strings can get any better.

That looks really great!

One question; What sort of fret sawing setup did you use? Did you make a jig? Use a SM mitre box? Framing square and eyeballs?

I am at a bit of a stand still because I cannot decide how to proceed through this phase.

If you could share a pic or two of your fret slotting process, I'd sure appreciate it!
