$500 5 string?

I want a good 5 string but I dont want to spend a ton of cash on it about 5-6 hundred would be as much as i'd spend,if you guys could help me out that would be great,thanks

Ibanez, Schecter, Spector, Carvin, Squier, Peavey, Yamaha. They're all good. Buy used; you'll get the best value.

I build my own parts/frankenstein basses and the usually come in under $600 not including the labor.

TolerancEJ,you just helped me out greatly I was thinking of Carvin but i had forgot the name.
Also I really like the sound and feel of Warwicks,does anyone know how much they run used because I wouldn't mind saving up a little extra cash for one,or any higher quality bass you guys recommend

You can find corvettes around 6-700 dollars.

My back-up 5er is an OLP. If you're picky you can find a decent one for way less than $500.

I've seen quite a few Lakland 5501s available in that price range recently - on Craigslist, eBay, TB, elsewhere.

A used Guild Pilot 5 would be an excellent value. Mine's great, EMG JJ setup with V-V-T.
