i've gotthat bass, do you notice that its got quite a low output? or is that just compared to my warwick?

I played it live for the first time tonight. I noticed that compared to my TRB-6 the Dean is not as loud, but then again I think my TRB-6 is the loudest bass know to man. I got a lot of compliments on the Dean and was told that it sounded great in the house.

I have the fretted version (as on the first page), and it is indeed much quieter than my Cort...it could possibly be the electronics or something.

Gadzooks! What a looker! I'm stunned!

Love the lines (wood and carving). Like the Sadowsky-style knobs and the custom bridge. Very cool rear headstock veneer.

Reminds me of a Fodera a bit.

My STR 6 that I just got from The Low End.

I love it. It's 34" scale with 18mm string spacing so it's very comfortable and balances great. Tonally, it's very much a modern jazz sound which is perfect for me. The pickups are STR single coils in 60's position with an Aguilar 3 band pre.

That's a very sweet looking bass! I would have preferred black hardware to "work" with the top, but somehow gold hardware still looks amazing.

It needs new strings, gonna put flatwounds on it and I guess we will be good companions before summer

Did you ever find suitable strings? Were you unhappy with the sound of roundwounds?

The pu's, piëzo's and electronic's amplify every little movement of my fingers. I guess this will be less with flats.
Besides, I got a fretless with roundwounds allready for the more aggressive sounds and sparkling kind of sounds. This bass I wanna use for the semi-acoustic singer-songwriter warm and cosy kind of music.

The Indië strings should arrive any moment now. I guess they fit but I think the quality is not what I want.

So I'm going to order custom strings from Pyramid. Then I need to have a few weeks patiënce before these will arive.....

I don't have the pics at the moment, but I will edit my post once I get them. I own two: Peavey TL-Six fretted (for now) - It's missing a string, because I broke it. It has six tuners, so it's a sixer.

If those don't work, I use a passive tone knob on my Conklin wired to the RMCs. I was originally hoping the passive tone knob and EQ would make an upright tone, but not so much. The important thing is that it reduces finger noises and squeaks.

Dean Six Fretless

Everyone says they are really quiet, mine sounds okay through my GK 4X10, although it is slightly quieter than my modded pbass, but that thing has some hot pickups.
