It's funny, the best 6 string I've ever played, hands down, was an ash/maple MPG I tried at a trade show several years ago. It was really light, resonant, punchy, snappy all those good things. I still think about it.

This one was great in its own rite, but I had to unload it for a few reasons. For one, it was too heavy (my fault based on the woods I chose). Also, it never really sounded right...it had basslines pickups with an OBP3 which is a bad combination. The one at the trade show had the same pickups with a Demeter pre and sounded AWESOME through his WWU/Bag End rig. Should have gone with that pre...

Also, the body is a little large form, especially the 'hips'. If Matt would make a slightly downsized body, I would order 2 tomorrow because they're perfect in every other way. Alas he won't (I asked).

they will do almost anything for a price :smug:

but as far as I know that is a fairly simple order...they don't up charge for fretless models...so basically yes, but if it is he same situation as i went through make sure you have a good sales guy that is willing to follow up with warwick on a regular basis...I had a few miss haps with my order...first they forgot to ship it, then they sent the wrong one...it was a fun extra two weeks...

but on the plus side the bass plays perfect...muawh

Oh man I can imagine the anticipation torture. lol

Currently I don't think I will be able to purchase one new though and will be sniffing around for one used. At this point think I'll get a fretted thumb6 broad, and have it defretted so at the least I can have my little sissy reference lines. Although being such a pricey bass I feel a little hesitated to do that. Either way, they seem uncommon enough that I if it takes too long to find what I want I may have the funds to just bite the bullet on a new one anyway. heh

"Warwick Thumb bolt-on 6 broadneck fretless". Just rolls of the tongue eh? :eyebrow: lol
