that would be my choice for 6er that are easly found and low in price. but if you want to spend more coin i would go for a spector NS-6XL, or a Warwick 6er but you will spend a lot more for thoes basses that you will for the ibanez sr506 and the sr is sexy

I got my BC Rich 6er for $1200. There are a few out there if you can find them and out bid me.....

I would second the Alembics. You can get an Epic 6 around 1500ish or luck out and get a Europa for 2000ish.

For tone and output I'd say either Spector or Warwick Streamer. I used to own the first series JM6 by yamaha (RBX6JM).Incredible playing bass but weak non descript sound.Great neck,balance and playability though.

I've been running my 94' Corvette' ProLine 6 string in a metal setting and it's definitely got the tone to cut through yet subtle enough for the fast runs and riffing not to get muddy.

I'm really surprised you guys are saying it's a low quality rig. True it came cheap but I think it sounds great.

Then screw what people think. Anybody can get on Talkbass and tell you what to buy, they aren't the authority on the subject, it's a matter of choice.

But then again, you are running at a pretty low wattage for metal. Honestly, in metal, I'd say amps are more important than basses. You want to be able to put out thundering lows.

If I were in your shoes, I wish I was, you have quality footwear my friend, I'd upgrade the amp. Stingray 5 is a killer bass.
