Ernie Ball made the Silhouette guitar in a 30" Bass IV style.
In addition to the Schecter Ultra VI they also made/make the Hellcat VI and Hellraiser C-VI.
I've played the Ultra VI and I really liked it. I just wish the pickup routes were more of a standard size than mini humbucker.

Thumbs up on this Ibby, I bought one a couple of months ago, and love love love love it. It feels really good, very comfortable neck. I actually bought it online, and was a bit concerned that it may not have enough 'ooomph', like not great bass response, but was pleasantly surprised. I have mine tuned as a guitar, EADGBE, really versatile, expressive instrument IMO. I believe that they have been discontinued, and I dont know how many they made, but I would think NOS should be available somewhere.Ibanez SRC6
They were limited production and they don't pop up very often. If you can locate one, there was an Ibanez SR7viiSC. It was Ibanez's 7-string version of the Fender Bass VI.
As screen name is "DANOSIX" I would be remiss to mention the Danelectro six string bass - sometimes called a baritone.
The Danelectro is the ORIGINAL of these (the Fender was Leo's attempt at making a better version).
If you get one that is marked Baritone it's just got higher (A - a) strings instead of E to e - even the nut is same (I think).
In some of the reissues the ones called Baritone have a switch while the ones called a Bass VI have no switch (just the dual volume). The only reason they have a "baritone" version is there are more guitarists out there than bassists, so a "baritone guitar" is an easier sell than a "6 string bass" - and since the baritone renaissance of the last 20 years (largely triggered by Danelectro) baritones are a LOT more popular than Bass VIs.
These are the original "Tic Tac" bass, but if you don't play flats heavily muted on them they are no necessarily ticky-tacky.
Yeah, very nice instrument... but don't look for NOS, look for used. These are one of those instruments which tend to get bought by people who don't know what they're getting into and resell them relatively quickly - one came through my local Long and McQuades (Canadian for GC) 4 or 5 times before it finally stayed out - so someone got a great deal with all the depreciations absorbed by other people and little to no wear and tear on it.
These are cool because they are an unapologetically modern take on bass VI - no attempt to make it look or feel like a "retro" instrument.
I LOVE my Dano (I wouldn't have named myself after it if I didn't) and I love me a Fender VI - but there is absolutely no reason you can't have modern playability and features in one of these, (and personally, I find most of the "other" retro looking ones tend to just look like bad copies of the Fender)
Man, I figured my GAS was done a couple months ago, but I REALLY want one of these VI-ers now! Dammit! Nice to see there are quite a few from different manufacturers.
Thomann has them in stock in the EU, not sure they will ship to the US with Cites though.

so are you saying a Dano is not really worth it compared to other modern products?
