6 string bass

greetings,
so i decided to purchase a 6 string bass the other day....and thought....
is it possible to tune into standard guitar tuning?

will any tweaks or modifications be needed?
what about diffrent strings than these stock ones?
just popped one right now trying to tune it.....

for the record, its a lovley rogue lx406

thanks in advanced:ninja:

dont know what the hell was that last smilie was about haha

thanks

My ancient Gibson EB-6 is tuned like a guitar only lower. I use a standard set of Rotosounds plus a 22 and a 32 for the E and B. The shorter scale makes it a bit easier to find these gauges in the right length. There are some interesting sounds in that thing.
