$650 for used German Warwick vette...too good to be true?

So she has some minor scuffing on the bottom and a replaced tuning gear. Do we think she's a go? Has anyone ever scored a plan bubinga German-made vette for that low of a price? Or did I find a sweet deal?

I think those basses are undervalued on the market right now, but its not too good to be true. I've sent plenty of German corvettes in the 450-600 range. 650may actually be on the high end of normal.

the active Corvette or Double Buck? For the Corvette Standard, I see them all the time for $500, for a Double Buck that's not a bad price.

Okay sweet, good to know! I just figured that with new pro series basses priced at $1.4k the german vettes had to be higher. Sweetness!

I paid $700 for a 5-string German Corvette Standard (ash body).

I paid $420, shipped, for a standard passive bubinga Corvette that was in great shape a year ago.

I just picked up a 06 German, active, Bubinga Corvette Std 4 string for $500 off Craigslist.
Definitely used, but in great shape.

I'm still waiting on mine to ship... what do we think about the stock pickups/preamps in these? Anyone gonna swap? Mine's an '04 if that matters...

Without seeing it, that's on the high end of normal used prices for the Corvette. Bit high for a 4-string, little more towards average for a 5, but not unreasonable. If you're happy with the bass and the deal grab it, but certainly see if you can knock some money off or, if you prefer a sweeter deal, hold off and you'll probably find one.

I paid $450 for a fretless german vette with hard case in 8.5/10 condition. I agree that these basses are way under valued.

The passive ones sold new for less then 1k and the active ones for just over 1k a few yrs ago. Reasonable used price imo if in very good to excellent shape.

I picked up mine for $600 at gc new , well as new as they get considering everyone that played it in the store. They did put a new set of chromes on it.Too bad it weighs so damn much, still love it though!

Considering a guy I went to school with is selling a FNA Jazzman for €650 at the moment, its not that uncommon.

I got a 05 4 string Corvette Standard for 350$ last year. There are even better deals out there if you don't mind some scuffs and poring through Craigslist.

I sold my active bubinga corvette, which was in awesome condition, for $700. I picked up a fortress one, for $450. I TOTALLY scored a Streamer Pro M in a guitar center, NEW, for $499 (it had a dead battery and needed strings). Also almost picked up a Corvette Jazzman, right here, for $700 - but totalled my car on the day I was going to pay.

I bought my first Warwick new. I will never do that again. They can often be had for a third of their market price. Bought a Streamer too Jazzman for $1000.

PS. I like Warwicks.
