Hey guys. I need some advice on finding a ball park on the value of my 72 lefty Fender P bass. It went through a house fire years ago but survived. The body is in good shape but the original pickups have been swapped out. The neck is straight but the skunk strip is coming out. I’m sure that is because of the heat. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all.

The skunk stripe coming out is a sign of a serious problem. Essentially makes the neck worthless unless it is repaired.
Enough heat to cause that to happen would have damaged other parts of the bass as well. Before the glue joint holding that piece of wood failed due to being in a fire the finish on both the neck and body would be ruined and the pickup covers, pickguard and wiring insulation would be warped, melted or discolored.

Thank you all for your advice. I think I will part it out. It was a great bass. Also, I was unaware that I needed to be a supporting member to receive certain information. I’ll read further on this and if I’ve broken a rule all apologies.
