I have a J-bass I built from Warmoth parts, including a wenge neck. The neck seems denser than maple and gives the bass a different vibe, but I really like it. Good luck with yours.

The neck for the 72 is wrapped up and under the tree, but here is a picture of our new logo plate on a different bass. Very thin birdseye maple bonded to a no warp backing. Laser cut and engraved by our friends at Axetreme Creations. Mounted with two hex head screws. Finish is tung oil.

That's a really cool idea for nameplate. I don't think I've ever seen anything like that.
