I can't wait to get the finish on and have the curl in the bubinga pop. Larry really supplied me with outstanding wood for this bass.

A little bit of Danish oil.

It needs a bit more oiling, but mostly some wet sanding, followed by some drying, then a little wax. I'm hoping that the rest of my electronics components will show up in the next few days. I'm hoping it will be done in about a week.

Whoop...Kiss of death right there - as soon as I say something like that - project a completion time, date, or even era, the powers that be chuckle and then make sure that I never make even that loose deadline. It's a game for them.

Well, it's not exactly light, it's an 8 string with a bubinga top and back and a 2.25" thick piece of wenge, lacewood and padauk behind the thru neck on the body. It's totally hollow, so that makes some difference. I'm guessing that it's probably going to be in the neighbourhood of 800lbs. I'll have to weigh it once it's fully assembled.

I'm guessing that it's probably going to be in the neighbourhood of 10-11lbs.

It feels about twice as heavy as my EUB, and that's meant to be mounted to a stand.

Looks awesome, though.

Well, the finish is done. I'm just waiting for a new bridge now (decided to splurge a little since the bass turned out so well) and the tone pots for the OBP-3. Other than that, it's pretty much ready to go.
