8 string bass?

You could spend lots on a 6 string too, like $40,000 for one of these? Meet the "Dire Wolf!"
Sorry but I just now saw this…that’s Bill Asher, a builder best known for his lap steels that Ben Harper and David Lindley have played. He used to have a retail space that I’d go to every once in a while.

His mom messed around with guitars on occasion…

Almost a necro thread now, been a long time since I posted about it. They are selling very well, over 8 sold now, more orders coming in. The Grateful Dead Foundation is a big supporter of Bill's guitars now, especially Wolf and Dire Wolf. I think there also another very, very limited run called the Dark Wolf, made from Dark Walnut.

They are now making Dire Wolf in both 5 and 6 string models. So far, no fretless.

Doing some math, seeing postings on TB last couple days about $59 Glarry's, and you could buy 680 Glarry's for price of one Dire Wolf. I'm willing to go out on a limb and bet that at least a couple of them would be decent basses?

Personally, I wouldn't buy either, I'd want something more in the low, low middle.
