'86 Ibanez musician ideas

I'm getting breakup/distortion when the bass is played "normally". New battery, leaned the jack with contact cleaner & cotton swab, checked wiring for lose/broken connections & all seems well. I'd like to fix on my own but unable to find a schematic. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

You could replace the caps; if that doesn't do the trick then replace the opamp or the transistors in the gain stage.
