90 miles for $200.00? Reasonable?

Is that reasonable? I've driven as far or further for less in the past but these days I try to keep those long distance gigs to a minimum, mainly because I have trouble staying awake on the drive home...That basically means stopping every 30 minutes or so to nap, or worst case getting a motel room, taking an Ambien and sleeping for 4-5 hours in a real bed.

Two things off the top of my head:
1) That's not "drive 90 miles". That's "drive 90 miles" one way. Which, where I come from, means "drive 180 miles"...;) Which means you're getting slightly more than a dollar per mile...
2) What kind of a drive is this going to be? Out here where I live now, 90 miles up (or down) I-15 would be a high speed blast with almost no turns. When I lived in England, 90 miles on their secondary roads would be several hours of gear shifting, steering wheel turning, pack-a-lunch-and-bring-a-friend Purgatory. Which I personally wouldn't do for twice as much...

Up to you, of course, but at my age (66), there would have to be a few more perks than $200 for me to show up..:cool:

You would think but thats not often the case. I've done a few gigs with folks who are "A listers" for the East Coast jam band scene, and walked away with $100.00 after a 2 hour plus drive. Could be they got paid more and I got paid less because Im a nobody, but I was willing to eat that cost to play with those guys...At the time it was a very good opportunity for me.

like i said, maybe maybe not..i know one of the other guys got paid $100 for that gig as i overheard that discussion between he and the B.L., the other guys were all local to that area and didn't have as far to drive so they may have been ok with a low paying gig...who knows though..Personally I don't really care, that chance to play with those guys was enough for me...particularly the drummer on that gig.

Negative on getting checked for apnea. I do plan on getting a sleep study done as My sleeping habits are crap.

My question is what calibre of musician are YOU that YOU feel playing with a certain guitarist, drummer etc that you would be ok with the offer?
I listen to all genre of music but Gospel is my stick.
I wont leave my living for less than what you guys are discussing regardless of distance..... and I come with a stage rider. Im really curious
