Ehhh, ain't no thing. Different world. After the kid from Omaha with the Kay, this guy's like Miss Manners.... just a bump in the road, and nothing to do with the original topic.

Besides.... Ken lets you know he's an a$$hole right up front, like the rest of us real men... :D

All joking aside. That's cool. Everybody has a different sense of what wonder and horror are. You probably wouldn't bring a Slap King to an orchestral audition, and it would be madness to show up at Hot Rod Show Rock-a Billy gig with the old gentleperson's bass such as the "Batch".

Why did you even post that link? It just furthers the consensus that you are completely ignorant and closeminded. Character, History, and Tone are all that true musicians really care about -- all other things remain to be superficial. Have you listened to a recording and judged the bass player's skill on what bass he plays? Of course you haven't! because you are unable to see the bass while listening to the record.

Personal (and bass) character, history, and tone break down the mental barriers that prevent you from making a pure musical statement. All it boils down to is expression and be it a Slapking or a Prescott, as long as it sounds good and true coming from my cans into my ears, i honestly don't give a rat's ass.

I learned something from the Brandon Nuoriko thread, and you seem to remind me a lot of that dude: The longer you continue to keep your ears, eyes, and mind shut, the further you stray from your path.

ehhh.... I dunno.... I contend that he's just in a different section of the same pool. He's got his opinion and he stated it forcefully. I don't agree with him, and I personally think that the Slap Thing looks hideous, but I defend his right to say what he thinks. He just has a different thing that he needs from a bass.... appearance comes before sonic excellence.

I would have agreed with you before he called the bass, 'Crapelder'. There was no reason to say that.

Time out, folks. Up in BG they have a rule where you can't call another bass "ugly" because it always leads to flame wars. I don't wanna do that here. How about we all just take a step back and consider the source, and then decide if the source is worth the trouble of replying to? If not, just resume talking about the bass, which I understand is pretty amazing to play. Whatsay?
