I played that Spectorcore I have on layaway again, and I have come to the conclusion that I don’t want it. I like my fretless Yamaha with the EMG split pickup better. I could buy something else, but I think I will just get a refund, if the store charges me a restocking fee, cool. It’s funny, I was at GC and checked out a bunch of stuff, including a nice Sandberg, and I don’t want anything. My Geddy, Yamaha, and other basses work just fine for me, I am going to keep my money in my pocket.

Update: the manager finally had the bass set up. It plays properly now. I feel like a newbie for complaining!

That Yamaha fretless (my dad has the same bass but with stock pickup and natural alder finish that is about as neutral as can be) is the most utilitarian instrument I have ever played with the most neutral aesthetics I think I have ever seen, but what a great playing solidly built instrument for cheap!

Seems like a good call. I have the same GAS problems and have so far today thought about buying a BBNE2 and a Godin A4 Fretless. But when I went to practice I played my second ever bass TRBX604 and am struggling to remember why I bought the next 11.

By the way, what is the P Bass in your avatar? The one thing I don’t have is a traditional P Bass and would love to get one cheap one day to complete my collection and I think I remember seeing that you got one new that was a good price.

That Glarry Fretless P is good if you don’t mind putting in some work on a bass.

Another option if I cannot get a refund is this:

I honestly don’t know why you really “need” a 2nd fretless ... I mean that Pedulla...fughetaboutit.
Seems like you got everything you need.

I have three basses, my L2500, a FrankenFretless Jazz V will MM pickups, and a Squier VM Jazz V with Apollo pickups and 2-band STC Blackout Preamp that sounds absolutely amazing.
The only reason I want to build another Jazz is because I have Fender Marcus Miller pickups, Rudy Pensa preamp, and all other necessary hardware in a box waiting for a body and neck, and I’d like to put it all to use. But after that, I’m done.
