...It's so frustrating to have gear go down because it's expensive. So trying to figure out if I cut my losses and move on. Have no idea what the cost for repair is going to be.

GK gear is great sounding, reliable gear. I've seen guys still playing their RB800 after 30 years and it's still going strong. Failures happen with any brand and I wouldn't give up on GK because of this, if you like the gear. I would start by getting an estimate for the repairs and decide from there.
. Otherwise it may pay to have someone look at it even if just to repair and sell.
