Closest I got was a pair of YBA-1s or a YBA-3 and a pair of 1x15s

Some great looking rigs in this thread, and no losers, IMO!

I can think of a lot of cool looking rigs from over the years (and most of them have already been posted) but something I find interesting is that two of what I think are among the coolest looking rigs are also among what I think are the coolest sounding rigs and those are the venerable SVT/fridge (flatback) combo and the Hi-Watt full stack. I sure wouldn't want to carry either one anymore but I'll happily play through either one if it's available as backline - and for any style of music!

My nominees:

1) The "Big F(ri)cking Cabinet", part of a "Tri-Amp" rig that included a 1200 watt head ran the upper portion of the cabinet-- 4x10's with (2) hi-frequency drivers-- in stereo, while running the lower portion of the cabinet -- a 1x15 -- in mono as a sub. This cabinet was Gibson-era TE, but shown here with what appears to be an older TE head:

2) The Glockenklang 6-Box (6x10). I love the look of this, mostly due to the sturdy, linebacker-like stance, and the arrangement of the ports-- like a 2x10+T was placed on top of a 4x10 and the two were merged:

3) The SWR Henry The 8x8. Big Cabinet? Check! Lots of drivers? Check! Frickin' huge ports? Check! The only problem is, I feel the need to keep the number of "8's" running, and play it through a 400W tube head with (8) KT-88's!

4) The Genz-Benz NEOX-212T. Yeah, sure, you can tell me all you want about that modern vertical 2x12's from other manufacturers are more efficient for their footprint, blah, blah, blah. But no "small" cab on the market today made quite the same visual statement as this broad-shouldered, dual-symmetrical-monster-sized-port'ed beast!

5) And of course, the king of rigs, in my opinion-- The Acoustic Control Corp 360\370. I don't feel a need to comment on this further-- just let it stand on its' own:

I actually would doubt a modern smaller 212 neo cabinet would be more efficient than that GB one, at least not moreso in general... likely the other way around. Smaller cabs have trade offs....

regardless... I love your list!!

I haven't used both at the same time for probably fifteen years, yeah they are a pain to move but I've always had big station wagons to move them around, the 810s are easier to move than a lot of 410s believe it or not. The last time I used two cabs and one head was at an outside gig 6 or 7 years ago, the guitarist on my side started complaining they were too loud before I turned them on. :laugh:

I brought a head out here though and still use it with one or two Ampeg 15's.
