A new Ric 4003

About a year ago I got a Ric 4003 in FireGlo. Recently I had GAS for a MapleGlo. I got it online from SamAsh.com, they had one left. I just put LaBella Deep Talkin' Flats on her. She got here Thursday. I am loving this one as much as I love her older sister.

Yeah i have a MapleGlo with Deep Talkin' Flats also, SUCH GOOD TONE! It Seems Kinda Ironic to Put Flats on a Ric, BUT IT SOUNDS SO GOOD!

are the ric's hard to play? they seem so thick at the nut...

Mine (05 4003) was hard to play when I first got it. Since then I put a lighter set of strings on it (roto .095-.040) and tweaked the neck so it's allmost flat and lowerd the action a tad. Now it plays like butter. The neck is thick and it takes some getting used to but now I find it pretty comfy. And when I go to play my jazz it's like the neck is a toothpick. I want to play a 4001 someday to see what the neck is like as I've read it's a thinner profile.

Mr. Mig, I am jealous! Nice lookin bass!

Very cool...I recently threw a set of Chromes my 07 4003 jetglo and I am loving it. Really brings the sound of the wood out. I find the rounds tend to bring out the more of pickup sound, which is very cool as well. :D

I'm Glad to hear you say that. I was wondering if I'd like the Chromes on a Rick when I get mine. I am even more sure now than ever.....
