A question about sanding a neck

I have done them before but won't as I get older. Have to be careful and can be time consuming. Measure the thin neck you like and find one like that to install.

The thinnest Jazz Bass neck that I have ever experienced was a MIJ Fender Geddy Lee.

Way too thin for me but maybe your "cup of tea".

Get a replacement neck. Best thing to do.

Yes, I mentioned that one in a previous post. Very thin neck, for sure. Just perusing the usual classifieds here and elsewhere, I don't see many rosewood fender necks for sale, which is what the original neck is. really don't want a blonde fretboard neck.

If you've never done this and it's a bass you DON'T want to chance messing up, pull the neck and get a replacement that fits what you're after.

When the time comes to sell it off, put the old one back on and you're good.

Again, I'm not planning on doing this myself, either sanding or replacing.

I added deep V contours to two Warmoth necks. Take it slow and don't over do it. I'm happy w/ the results.

I’ve done it a couple times with razor blades as scrapers, it’s not bad if you know what you want. The expensive part is refinishing and/or instrument devaluation.
