My understanding is as you already said the hardware is the same as the older German hardware. The brand new bridges and string retainer are now solid brass but that only started in the last few months. So yes its the same, electronics are the same including pickups, preamp, pots knobs etc
The wood is from the German air dried stockpile so the woods used are the exact same as the German models. The shapes and designs are done on a CNC machine and they are running the exact same specs. The difference is in the finishing. The last stages done by hand as far as sanding and painting are done in Korea and are up to strict German standards but that is the main difference. The pay for labor is much cheaper but from what I have read a trained German employee is stationed in Korea at the facility to oversee all aspects of the building of basses and the finishing. Also mentioned Hans picked the best builders and factory to produce the Korean line that was available so they are almost exactly the same I would not hesitate to buy one the savings is well worth it for what you get. That said I wouldnt touch a Rockbass but all of the pro series Korean produced I would have full confidence in. Hope that helps...
