A Question for Peavey Cirrus owners ...

I bought my Cirrus specifically for "that Cirrus Sound" ... the one I see in all the videos that sounds almost like a Smith.

What are the best strings to use for that?

Nickel Wounds?
Stainless Steels?
Is there a specific brand I need to check out?

Just use your favorites. A Cirrus will get the same sound with pretty much any strings.

I actually really like Cirrus strings on my Cirrus. Sound great. Last a long time. And they're cheap, too! Under $20/set at my local dealer.

I love Black Beauties but they seem to die out so fast. I wonder how they sound on the Cirrus even after they start sounding kind of floppy.

The Cirrus definitely has that sound. In fact, I think that's what they were made for... as an affordable alternative to the unbearably expensive Ken Smith basses.

The Cirrus is an exceptional value! I absolutely love mine! It plays better than anything else I've ever had.

Not to bum a thread but since we've got the attention of some Cirrus owners I just purchased a 5 string Cirrus and am encountering an issue with it that I've only heard mentioned once before...

Does anyone find that once they reach the higher registers of the bass that they get lost in the mix? It seems like everything that cuts through in the lower registers (1st position) disappears once I get on the D/G strings in 7th+ positions. I'm adding a compressor (Nady CL-5000 for now) to try and fix this but would rather have the bass be solid as is.
